Privacy policy.
What we collect when you use this site or book a call, why we collect it, who helps us handle it, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law.
Who we are
data-engineering.co.uk is run by IS Consulting Ltd, the controller of your personal data. In this policy, "we" and "us" means IS Consulting Ltd.
For any question about your data, or to use your rights, email isconsultingltd@outlook.com.
What we collect
When you fill in the form to book a call:
- your first name, surname and email address
- your phone number, if you give it
- where you are now and what you want to achieve, if you tell us
- whether you ticked the box to receive marketing emails
- the page you were on and any campaign tags in the link you followed (for example utm_source), so we know which content brought you here
When you book a time: the details you enter in the booking calendar, the time you choose, and any notes you add.
When you visit any page: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.
Why we use it
- To arrange and hold your call and to follow up on it. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before any agreement, and our legitimate interest in replying to people who ask to speak to us.
- To send occasional emails with tips on learning data engineering, only if you ticked the box. The lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.
- To keep the site secure and working, using server logs. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a safe website.
We do not sell your data, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
Who handles it for us
We use these providers to run the site. Each processes your data only on our instructions:
- Supabase stores the details you send through the form.
- Cal.com runs the booking calendar and sends your confirmation and reminders.
- Microsoft Azure hosts the website and the intro video, and keeps the server logs.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces on these pages, so your browser shares your IP address with Google when a page loads.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as we work together and then for six years, for tax and legal records.
If you do not, we delete your form and booking details within 24 months of your last contact with us. If you opted in to emails, we keep your email address until you unsubscribe, then only a record that you opted out, so we do not email you again.
Server logs are kept by our hosting provider for a short period, normally no more than 30 days.
Cookies and storage
This site sets no cookies of its own. While you browse, your browser keeps the campaign tags from the link you arrived by, in session storage that clears when you close the tab, so they can be sent with the form.
The booking calendar is provided by Cal.com and may use its own cookies or storage to work. See Cal.com's privacy policy.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- have it corrected if it is wrong
- have it deleted
- restrict or object to how we use it
- receive it in a format you can take elsewhere
- withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time
Email isconsultingltd@outlook.com to use any of these. We reply within one month.
Complaints
Please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
